Evidence photography covers such events as accident scenes, crime scenes, records of activities such as seizures, or property recovery during protection order service.
If your premises or property have been damaged in a crime or incident, please call the police first. Do not disturb anything except the phone you call from. If you would like my services to corroborate your statements for court or insurance, I am frequently available on an emergency basis to arrive shortly thereafter. I will need to wait until the forensics experts have finished their documentation of the scene before commencing work, if a crime is suspected.
For records of premises for lease acceptance/vacation, please try to call ahead so we can schedule a convenient time. Proper documentation of these events can potentially save the tenant many hundreds or thousands of dollars in deposit claims and legal expenses. For the landlord, this can help enforce your claims in court.
For documentation of property recovery during legal proceedings, please be sure the other party, or your attorney or police escort, will be aware of my presence to avoid unneccessary confrontations. You can point out that my documentation is available for both parties' protection.
I will take photographs of anything I deem relevant, or that you request, with proper notation, scale and captions for record. These will be burned to a CD you and your attorney may use for legal purposes. I will erase and reuse my memory cards.
These photos WILL NOT be edited, in order to preserve their admissibility in court.
I am available as an expert witness on photos I have taken. For this I charge $50 per hour including travel time and waiting, plus travel expenses.
PLEASE NOTE: I do not have privileges of confidentiality like a lawyer and client. I am a professional witness and can be called to testify, and my files can be subpoenaed. Our discussions should be limited to the facts of what you want documented only. If you are in doubt as to your legal position, consult with your attorney. DO NOT ASK ME TO LIE OR WITHHOLD INFORMATION. MY PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY IS MY STOCK IN TRADE.
RATES:
$50/hr, three hour minimum (If you are nearby and the job is small, I may reduce this slightly). This does not include travel expenses. For late night or unscheduled weekend calls there is a $50 surcharge. Payment is due at time of service, unless other arrangements are made.
For $20, I will provide a second copy on CD for another interested party.
For $25 a year, I will also archive a copy of this information on a CD in my library. Please remember that this copy can be subpoenaed as evidence.
